Conservative Eastbourne borough councillors and former MP Caroline Ansell were out in the town at the weekend selling poppies as part of this year’s Royal British Legion appeal.

Former Operations Manager, now an RNLI fundraiser and local councillor Paul Metcalfe, has recently received a £300 cheque that will go towards the Eastbourne lifeboat.


Local councillors support Meads Scouts

The 1st Meads Scout group has been granted £1575 from Councillors Robert Smart, Barry Taylor and Kathy Ballard to help buy flags and storage facilities.


No Parking on verges and Pavements in Ratton

Motorists are now banned from parking their vehicles on verges and pavements in Kings Drive and Park Avenue following a successful campaign by Ratton County Councillor Colin Belsey.

Ratton Councillors oppose plans for a bus and cycle corridor

Plans to implement bus and bicycle corridors through Ratton are being opposed by the area’s three Conservative borough councillors.

The proposal, by the county council, would see cycle routes along Wish Hill and Coopers Hill with grass verges concreted over.
