Meads Conservative Association held its annual Burns Lunch last week with nearly 90 people in attendance.
The event, at the Landsdowne Hotel, was attended by the town’s former MP Caroline Ansell who watched Elaine Montgomerie make the traditional address to the haggis and toast in her usual wonderful vigour and panache.
Bagpiper Ian White gave an even more Scottish feel to proceedings as the guests sat down to a traditional lunch.
The guest speaker was Will Goodhand who is a Conservative parliamentary candidate.
Chair of Meads Conservatives Jane Lamb said: “This was once again a super event and lunch. Many thanks to all those who came and who helped organised it.”
Caroline Ansell added: “I have a Scottish mother, so this is a day that is close to my heart even though we are some way from Scotland down here in Eastbourne. Many thanks to all those who came to make it such a special event.”
