Colin Murdoch: Ratton
I was born in Lambeth, opposite Parliament, but grew up in Dulwich and Croydon.
At 16, I started work in an office and learnt the skills of becoming a design draughtsman, before joining the Royal Navy, where I learnt Radar and went on to become the Navigator’s Assistant.
When leaving the Navy, I started an apprenticeship before joining a large fire protection company.
Soon, I decided to start my own business installing all aspects of fire prevention, getting some major contracts like the Bank of England.
After many years I decided to move on, and with my lovely wife, Elaine, we decided to move to Eastbourne to run our own Guest House.
Today, I work in sheltered housing as a manager.
