Cllr. Nigel Goodyear

Borough Councillor for Sovereign
  • Borough Councillors

Elected to the Borough Council in May 2023, Nigel lives locally and will be a strong voice for residents across Sovereign Ward.

Nigel shares his colleagues’ commitment to all parts of the Ward, however he has a certain affinity to Kingsmere; he is very aware that although it is very much part of the

Sovereign scene, it does not always come to mind when people think of Sovereign Ward, a wonderful area of Eastbourne.

Nigel is no stranger to the area having bought a bungalow for his parents, just off Princes Road, and then living with them and supporting them in their declining

years.

Nigel served over 35 years as a police officer in both the UK and Australia, and has most recently worked as an Investigator with the Serious Fraud Office.

He also has previous experience as an Eastbourne councillor having served in Meads ward for several years before the demands of his professional life made it

impossible to continue.
